Recently, the PUMCH delegation, led by Honorary President Zhao Yupei and President Zhang Shuyang, went to Macao to sign a cooperation intention on pre-employment training for specialists and to attend the first plenary session of the Strategic Development Committee of PUMCH Macao Medical Center/ Macao Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “the Committee”). Mr. Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, presented the appointment letter to members of the Committee; Mr. Zhao Yupei was appointed as the President of the Committee, with committee members being Ho Ioc San, Director of the Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Zhang Shuyang, PUMCH President; Alvis Lo Iek Long, Director of Health Bureau, Macao; Li Wei, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, NHC; Wu Wenming, Vice President of PUMCH; Ho In Mui and Lei Chin Ion, Deputy Directors of the Financial Services Bureau, Macao.
On December 15, 2021, Ma Xiaowei, Minister of the National Health Commission, and Ao Ieong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao, signed in Macao SAR a memorandum of cooperation on building an offshore medical complex. This year, the government of Macao SAR approved and set up the committee and the preparatory office and vigorously facilitates legislative work concerning the project, providing organizational safeguards for moving forward in a steady manner.
On September 7, 2022, witnessed by Ho Iat Seng, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, Honorary President Zhao Yupei, President Zhang Shuyang, Ao Ieong U, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao, Li Wei, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs, NHC, PUMCH Vice President Wu Wenming and Li Weicheng, head of the Preparatory Office of the PUMCH Macao Medical Center/ Macao Hospital signed the cooperation intention on pre-employment training for specialists. The cooperation intention is about selecting and sending Macao medical professionals to PUMCH for training and study annually to turn out specialists for Macao in alignment with the services that the PUMCH Macao Medical Center/Macao Hospital need to provide, ensuring sufficient and competent human resources for the hospital to be opened. Next, both parties will actively communicate and accelerate the work pace for improving the training plan, organizing selection interviews and review, and developing training and assessment programs.
During the trip, the delegation attended the first plenary session (enlarged meeting) held by the committee. The committee was established by the Macao SAR government and consists of eight members from the Mainland and Macao of China. The delegation also made a site visit to the new hospital under construction and had in-depth exchanges with relevant personnel to understand and discuss in detail the overall layout, discipline construction, talent training and operation model of the hospital.
